[Progressive House] HOLY SH*T It’s John Dahlbäck | Mysto & Pizzi | Alesso | Laidback Luke

This Monday, us Landlords feel that in light of the missed [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] post last week, its time to make up for that with an equally awesome [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] post for today’s Miscellaneous Mondays! Big releases this week to start up the month of October with very warm tracks from some of the biggest rising [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] producers of 2011. 1) Swedish [HOUSE] producer John Dahlback is killing it with a huge collaboration with Henrik B released back in July. “Senses” is more than just a “Hands-in-the-Air” track, with it’s Big-Room synths, and Trim Acid Goodness! Amazing productions from the pair and definitely worth a listen. 2) Yiruma’s 2001 original, “River Flows in You” gets a dizzying refix from the Swedish powerhouse that is Alesso. Exploding out of Sweden’s massive [HOUSE] scene last year with the three track EP on Joia, Alesso has come to gracefully outshine highly rated [HOUSE] icon’s in a bare year with his distinguished high-energy productions. I digress though. PREVIEW this banger! 3) Attention Tenants! Please give a warm welcome to the talented and beautiful Swedish [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] act that is Dinka (AKA Tamara Maria & Christian Hirt). The Queen of [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] released this single off of her best-selling album titled Tales of the Sun back in July. Packed with dangerously addicting vocals, and a progressive deep [HOUSE] sound, who says Euphoria can’t be a way of living? I say NAY to those that do! 4) Our next track is a DANCE-FLOOR ANNIHILATOR. The pair of producers Mysto & Pizzi have remixed yet another Summer Anthem, “Sunlight”. Originally produced by DJ Antoine featuring the soothing voice of Tom Dice, this refix maintains much of the melodic progression from the original, topped with a sun-splashed piano sound and catchy refrain similar to that of an Avicii production. 5) No other producer I know is as talented or capable as Laidback Luke when it comes to pushing out remixes. Back again with yet another banger of a remix, Patric La Funks original, “Time and Time Again” gets a nice “Trance 2.0” refix with it’s captivating vocals and uplifting synths. I know who has MY #1 vote for the Top100 DJs of 2011! Don’t forget that the rankings WILL be announced sometime with the next few weeks. Exciting stuff 6) And last, but never the least [as a bonus], we’ve decided to throw up a track from one of Electric Basement’s favourite [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] producers, Thomas Gold. Originally one of his most successful tracks produced back in 2010, Thomas Gold has re-released a rework of his hit single, “Marsch Marsch”. Synth Chords that reverberate throughout coupled with an aptly huge big-room drop of epic proportions have made this rework one of the most anticipated tracks of this frigid month of October! Enjoy the tracks we’ve posted Tenants! Keep that [HOUSE] rocking all night!

[OPEN HOUSE] Electric Basement Presents: Swedish Powerhouse AVICII
Welcome back Tenants from another weekend of late nights, heavy drinking, and excessive partying. Hope everyone’s weekend was as safe (but eventful) as ours here at Electric Basement. We’ve been super busy lately, and it’s great to finally be able to relax and post some awesome music. With winter just around the corner, our posting is going to get a lot more consistent now that we’ll be home a lot more often. Add us on Twitter and Facebook to keep in touch with us. All of us at Electric Basement love to hear from you Tenants! Any thoughts, opinions, or whatever you’d love to ask us is much appreciated… Anyways, without further ado, allow me to introduce to you, this weekends [OPEN HOUSE] Special guest; the young, the talented: AVICII.

Stockholm, Sweden native Tim Bergling (AKA Tom Hangs) is now one of the most successful and requested Producers to grace the EDM scene of 2011. Born September 9th, 1989; the young Swedish powerhouse has been stirring up a storm on dance floors all around the world with his signature vocal productions and melodic chord progressions! Named breakthrough artist of 2009 by the likes of Tiesto, Laidback Luke, and Bob Sinclair, the 22-year old has charted MANY singles on Beatports Top 100 National Charts including: “Seek Bromance”; “Blessed”; “Drowning”; and most recently with his latest Summer anthem, “Levels”, among others.
It’s been a HUGE year of growth for the young producer and it’s showing absolutely NO signs of slowing down anytime soon. With his monthly podcast “LE7ELS” topping almost every iTunes Top 10 Podcast Charts on a global scale this month, beating out the likes of “Tiesto’s Club Life” and even “BBC Radio 1”, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that our good friend Avicii is here to stay as the Rising King of [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE]. I’ve had the pleasure to see him spin live not once, but twice at Guvernment and Koolhaus and I have to say, “BEST LIVE-SET I’ve ever heard in my life.” He annihilated both nights with 3-hour sets packed full of “Avicii” goodness and then some. Expect some big remixes and bigger collaborations in the near future from the Rising King of [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE]; AVICII.
We’ve decided to throw into today’s [OPEN HOUSE] Special the Avicii, “LE7ELS” podcast along with a few classics and edits from the man himself that we believe really defines the Avicii sound; Powerful Buildups/Progressions and Melodic Synths. Enjoy todays [OPEN HOUSE] Special, and keep that [HOUSE] rocking Tenants!

[OPEN HOUSE] Introducing Belguims Biggest Illegal Export: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
Both of us Landlords here at Electric Basement have MASSIVE GROUNDS to cover today with all you Tenants. With [FOUR16] DJing on both Saturday and Sundays; and myself [NigMau5] working 24/7, it becomes near impossible to post songs on the weekend. It kills us to not be able to share all the awesome music we have with you guys on a daily basis. So to make up for all the missed posts, we’ve decided to combine our missed [ELECTRO-HOUSE], [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE], and [OPEN HOUSE] write-ups into todays post! In the future, we will continue to try our best to coordinate more properly all the work that needs to be completed so we can have posts everyday for our Tenants. Lets get right into our write-ups for today!
This weeks [OPEN HOUSE] Special features not ONE, but TWO of the the most talented Producers that has had the honour to grace the scene of EDM. Without further ado, allow me to introduce to you our next [OPEN HOUSE] Special guest(s), AKA Belguims biggest illegal export: DIMITRI VEGAS & LIKE MIKE.

Belguim powerhouse Producers/DJs; Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have come a LONG WAY in a VERY short amount of time with a portfolio filled to the brink with some of the worlds biggest [HOUSE] Anthems. The accolades they’ve clocked up within this relatively short time are equal to those some DJ stalwarts amass during a lifetime! The pair of Belgium-raised brothers are two of the strongest upcoming names in the EDM scene, garnering global media attention and praise from the likes of Tiesto to Snoop Dogg. Both Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have had the opportunity to collaborate with A-lists producers such as [PROGRESSIVE HOUSE] king Axwell, Dada Life, to the likes of Afrojack and upcoming producer Anger Dimmas.
What makes the pair so incomparable is that Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are known to bring more than just a “DJ set” to all their performances. The brothers offer one of the most unique performances by combining Dimitri Vegas’ superb mixing skills with the voice of Like Mikes vocals and MCing. The brothers have created some of the best clubbing experiences in the past with their Live-Performances that incorporated “Fun” and “Energizing” hands in the air peak time, dance floor destroying [HOUSE] beats. The year of 2011 has been a big year for the brothers, and shows no sign of slowing down in the near future. With their own label, Smash The House and a tour schedule that’s beginning to read like the departure board of JFK under their thumb, we can expect a ton of NEW productions (including the year is out) in the distant future. Let us not forget that the story of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike is still in its infancy and that this is just the beginning of a VERY eventful and succesful journey for the brothers. Enjoy the tracks we’ve posted below!
